Don’t forget the base materials
The pavers are only the visible third of the shopping list. A 12×12 patio also needs about 1.8 cubic yards (roughly 2.6 tons) of gravel base at 4 inches deep, 0.45 cubic yards of bedding sand for the 1-inch layer, 48 linear feet of edge restraint, and 2–3 bags of polymeric sand for the joints.
